Wusthof is known the world over for its precision-forged knives intended for professional chefs and home cooking enthusiasts alike. The Company was founded in 1814 and has been family owned and operated for seven generations. Wusthof’s knives are produced in a highly controlled 38-step process in its state-of-the-art production facilities located in Solingen, Germany, a region long famous for producing some of the best blades in the world. Wusthof’s blades are hand-forged from a single piece of stainless steel for maximum strength. The hand-polished blade is exactingly calibrated to be hard enough to resist dulling yet soft enough to take a keen edge when it's honed or sharpened.
